Madison, and more specifically University of Wisconsin-Madison, are are easily accessible via car, bus, and plane.

Flights: The closest airport to University of Wisconsin-Madison is the Dane County Regional Airport (MSN), which is approximately a 15 minute drive or a 30 bus ride from the university.

Alternatively, participants may find it preferable to fly into Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD). From Chicago, CoachUSA provides frequent shuttles that one can take to arrive in Madison.

Madison Busses: The city of Madison provides bus services throughout Madison and some outlying areas. These busses are cash fare only, unless one has purchased a bus pass with adequate fare loaded. See the city of Madison metro transit page for more information.

Local Attractions

The city of Madison is a vibrant city filled with sights and events for everyone. We note the following attractions that may be of interest:

• The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Memorial Union Terrace lies along Lake Mendota and houses a number of restaurants. A short walk along the pier leads to some short trails along the lakeside.
• The Dane County Farmer's Market runs each Saturday in the city center during the summer. Many local Madison food staples can be found at the farmer's market and in its vicinity.
• The Olbrich Botanical Gardens feature 16 acres of land that homes a conservatory and over 20 gardens with hundreds of different plants and flowers.
• The Chazen Museum of Art is located just off of campus and is open daily with free admission. The museum hosts approximately 25,000 works of art.
• There are several hiking trails throughout the Madison area. The University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum offers over 17 miles of such trails, only a short drive south of the university
